GPS Core Technologies Announces MobileCore for GPS-Enabled Smartphones and Location Based Services
Solution Ideal for Third-Party Private-Labeling and Rapid Deployment
of GPS and LBS Products
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. --(Business Wire)-- Apr 07, 2009
GPS Core Technologies, a leading provider of global positioning system
(GPS) and location based service (LBS) solutions, today announced its
new MobileCore worldwide tracking solution for GPS-enabled smartphones
and LBS products. MobileCore is a highly scalable, highly customizable
mobile smartphone client that enables the integration of “very close
proximity” GPS software into a brands current product or service
offerings to perform asset tracking, workforce and fleet management,
consumer behavior monitoring and more.
Ideal for B2C and B2B application providers, M2M (machine to machine)
distributors, device OEMs, platform providers and data providers,
MobileCore is designed to be private-labeled and tailored to support a
brands customer experience and user interface preferences. MobileCore
communicates with a wide variety of commercial and personal devices, and
can track locations within a five- to 15-meter radius in less than nine
seconds, providing a far more exact and timely location than cell
triangulation.
“We enable real-time, 24/7 GPS tracking of people and assets anywhere in
the world, which is vital in increasing workforce productivity,
improving customer service and eliminating unauthorized use of mobile
assets,” said Sean Watts, chief executive officer, GPS Core
Technologies. “With MobileCore and our other solutions, we help
companies monetize and drive bottom-line revenues from their GPS
implementations.”
MobileCore is compatible with all GPS-enabled Blackberry and Microsoft
Windows Mobile smartphones, and all GPS tracking devices. It resides on
the device as a “persistent application” that cannot be stopped by an
end user. Despite being “always on,” MobileCore consumes less than 15
percent of a phones battery life with five-minute location updates over
a 24-hour period.
St. Louis-based Agilis
Systems recently partnered with GPS Core Technologies to incorporate
MobileCore into its suite of industry-leading Mobile Resource Management
solutions. “MobileCore and its customizable architecture played a vital
role in enabling us to quickly deliver our Software Solutions Suite for
mobilizing business operations,” said Greg Winter, Agilis Vice President
- Operations. “The Suite helps our customers make informed senior
management decisions, better manage mobile resources, improve internal
and field workforce productivity, decrease capital and operating costs,
and enhance customer satisfaction.”
A wide array of companies has incorporated or integrated GPS Core
Technologies solutions into their own offerings, including: Wireless
Rain, a complete business-to-business wireless IT and managed
services provider; GPS
Toyz, a leading provider of GPS devices and mapping solution; RAStrac,
an automatic vehicle location software provider with thousands of
worldwide users; and GPS
Tracking Specialists, a real-time GPS tracking service that locates
and tracks teen drivers, family members, employees, fleets, equipment
and shipments.
According to Watts, the typical timeframe for integrating MobileCores
GPS and LBS software into a customers product or service is less than
five days. When integrating MobileCore, there are no upfront software
costs or server maintenance issues. When new mobile devices come to
market that need to be tracked, GPS Core Technologies can create a
“listener” that relays telemetry information for that specific model
within 24 hours, thereby “future-proofing” any system built on
MobileCore.
GPS Core Technologies provides professional care support that serves as
technical assistance for the companys customers and their clients.
