SHARP ENTERS THE SHORT-THROW MARKET WITH A DLP® BRILLIANTCOLOR™ PROFESSIONAL PROJECTOR

PG-F267X achieves a 100-inch diagonal image from a distance of just 4.3 feet to maximize a meeting space and for ease of installation

MAHWAH, N.J.
Virtual Press Office - Sharp is demonstrating its first short-throw DLP BrilliantColor professional projector at InfoComm 2009, combining the high brightness and convenience of a short-throw design with the high image quality and reliability of BrilliantColor DLP technology. Ideal for interactive presentations, the PG-F267X simplifies projector placement in classrooms and meeting rooms with limited space, achieving a 100-inch diagonal image from a distance of just 4.3 feet. Designed for the conference/classroom market, this projector offers superior color accuracy and enhanced inputs including a RJ-45 LAN terminal for remote access and diagnosis.

“With the availability of Sharp’s first short-throw product, the company can offer a high quality presentation solution for almost any type of location, from large boardrooms and conference rooms to small meeting rooms and classrooms with limited space,” said Dan Wynne, senior director of marketing, Professional Display Division, Sharp Information and Imaging Company of America. “The PG-F267X increases Sharp’s presence in the education market, providing a high brightness projector for smaller presentation spaces and easy steps for operation that teachers and business professionals will appreciate.”

Short-Throw Design
The PG-F267X offers a short throw design to permit large screen images to be projected from an exceptionally short throw distance -- a 100-inch diagonal image from the distance of only 4.3 feet from the screen or a 60-inch diagonal image from only 2.7 feet from the screen. This eliminates shadows that can occur on the screen caused by the presenter being in the light path of the projector. It also helps to avoid the projector lamp shining in the eyes of the presenter.

BrilliantColor and Sophisticated Image Quality
The PG-F267X projector features high brightness of 2500 ANSI Lumens and 2200:1 contrast ratio for a clear picture in virtually any lighting condition, and provides XGA native resolution (1024x768), for clear and accurate images. For superior color accuracy, the projector features a six-segment color wheel and DLP BrilliantColor technology for truer, more vibrant colors. BrilliantColor can enable up to a fifty percent increase in mid tones and expands the color palette beyond red/green/blue to include yellow, white, magenta and cyan for more realistic and lifelike color reproduction.

Flexibility and Ease of Use
At just 7.5 pounds, the PG-F267X projector can be easily ceiling or wall mounted or carried from classroom to classroom or boardroom to conference room and operated on a table top or AV cart. The projector also offers several features for simple setup and ease of use. The on-screen guide and “help” function ensures simple setup and operation and a quick start feature requires approximately three seconds at start up to project an image. With direct power off switching, the teacher or corporate presenter can unplug and move the projector immediately after use. This also helps control the power for multiple projectors simultaneously by using the room’s primary power switch in conjunction with the auto restart function. A wireless remote includes full wireless mouse control, a built-in spot light function and an on-screen pointer to help during presentations. The unit also includes a closed caption function.

The PG-F267X employs ultra-quiet cooling fans with a front exhaust engine to reduce distracting fan noise to an almost unnoticeable level. DLP projector owners also enjoy lower cost of ownership and longer projector lifespan thanks to the DLP sealed system with filter that prevents dust and dirt common in classroom environments from entering core parts of the optics.

Extensive Connectivity and Theft Prevention
For networked schools and meeting centers, the Sharp PG-F267X projector offers an RJ-45 LAN network connection with security monitoring that can send an email to the administrator’s PC in the event that the LAN connection breaks. The LAN connection permits remote access by Web browser for diagnostics and the ability to link to a specific Web site for service and support. Sharp’s free downloadable Sharp Display Manager Software™ allows for multiple projector management over a network and monitoring for theft protection. Additional theft prevention is provided by a system Lock function and an optional security cable kit for ceiling-mounted projectors.

The PG-F267X affords a wide array of inputs and outputs for use in connecting to laptop and desktop computers, DVD Players, cable and satellite boxes, HDTV tuners, VCRs and video game consoles. In addition to its standard analog RGB/component and audio/video input terminals, inputs are provided for a DVI-I analog/digital source with HDCP compliance which provides secure, virtually noise-free digital connection. A built-in audio system is provided, along with variable audio line-out (for use with powered loudspeakers or a larger external sound system), RGB loop-through output, RS-232C and USB for mouse control.

The PG-F267X is backed by a three-year parts and labor limited warranty including three years of Sharp’s industry-leading 24-hour turnaround “ER” Express Repair support. The warranty on the user-replaceable projection lamp is 90 days.
