Draper Window Shades Offer a Greener Alternative
(Spiceland, Ind.) – (
Virtual Press Office) -- Draper, Inc. is teaming with Phifer to offer a phthalate-free alternative to window shades constructed with traditional plasticizers—the chemicals used to make vinyl more pliable.
Draper shades are now offered with Phifer SheerWeave® PW3500, PW4100 and PW4400, made with DOW ECOLIBRIUM ™. DOW ECOLIBRIUM™ Bio-Based Plasticizers offer a renewable alternative that is phthalate-free, offering a more sustainable option while having the same great performance and feel of current materials.
Draper Shades featuring Phifer SheerWeave® PW3500, PW4100 and PW4400 made with DOW ECOLIBRIUM™ offer many environmental benefits. Fabrics using DOW ECOLIBRIUM™ lower greenhouse gas emissions as much as 40% vs. those using existing PVC compounds; 98% of the plasticizer is derived from renewable feed stock for a lower carbon footprint; they are Phthalate-free and RoHS compliant; and DOW ECOLIBRIUM™ can be recycled in a standard vinyl stream.
