Winter Fancy Food Show Demonstrates Strong Momentum
Exhibit Space Almost Sold Out
New York, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2012) – (Virtual Press Office) -- The 38th Winter Fancy Food Show is shaping up to exceed last year's record-setting event, according to the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc. (NASFT), the show's owner and operator.
The show is the largest marketplace devoted exclusively to specialty foods and beverages on the West Coast. It will take place Jan. 20 – 22, 2013, at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Registration is now open at www.fancyfoodshows.com.
"Consumers are embracing specialty food like never before and buyers and suppliers are eager to meet this growing demand," says NASFT President Ann Daw. "Exhibit space is nearly sold out and attendance is on track to exceed last year's record numbers."
Special events include a keynote address by John Mackey, co-founder and co-CEO of Whole Foods Market, who will speak about his new book, Conscious Capitalism, and the first annual NASFT Leadership Awards. The awards honor individuals in the specialty food industry who have advanced food standards through visionary social, economic and environmental efforts.
The exhibit halls will be filled with the latest in chocolate, cheese, olive oil, snack foods, natural and organic products, ethnic specialties, gift ideas and more from food artisans, importers and entrepreneurs from Alaska to Maine and 35+ countries and regions. More than 100 companies will be exhibiting for the first time, and 30 more will be featured in New Brands on the Shelf, a special section for emerging entrepreneurs.
The education program begins with the Super Retailer Summit, a one-day offsite workshop on Friday, January 18 with topics including store design, social media and internal controls. It is one of more than 15 expert-led seminars targeted to all levels of specialty food professionals from emerging entrepreneur to veteran manufacturer.
Show features include a new interactive real-time floor plan to streamline the booth selection process and tools to help make connections and map a route for the show, and new efforts, in conjunction with Greenview Sustainability, a consulting firm, to minimize and control waste such as food samples and tasting utensils.
