LAS VEGAS, Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Don't miss your chance to become a member in the exclusive 1,000-Yard Club and own the world's first Precision-Guided Firearm (PGF) system in the TrackingPoint™ 1,000 Yards is Easy contest at the 2013 SHOT Show®.

The contest, celebrating the debut of the TrackingPoint PGF system that puts fighter jet-style lock-and-launch technology in a rifle, will award one lucky winner with a complete TrackingPoint XS1 PGF system, along with an all-expenses paid hunting trip for two to the Alaskan wild and an opportunity to take a 1,000-yard shot at a Kodiak bear—a total prize package worth more than $35,000.

To enter, stop by the TrackingPoint Booth #12451 during SHOT Show and take the 1,000-yard shot challenge on the Tracking Point TTX simulator. Everyone who makes the 1,000-yard shot will earn a "1,000 Yards is in the Bag" sling bag, a TrackingPoint T-shirt, plus a single entry in the drawing for the grand prize package. The contest runs throughout the SHOT Show, closing at 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18.

"This is an incredible opportunity to finally make the ever-elusive 1,000-yard shot and walk away with one of the first TrackingPoint systems to be made available to the public," said TrackingPoint President Jason Schauble. "Plus, with this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Alaska, you can use your very own TrackingPoint PGF to experience the thrill of bagging a fiercely majestic Kodiak at extreme distance."

TrackingPoint's groundbreaking PGF system is the first of its kind that incorporates innovative optics, automatic ballistics calculation and guided fire control to create the most accurate long-range shooting system in the world. With TrackingPoint, even a novice shooter can become an elite long-range marksman in seconds, accurately and effectively engaging targets out to 1,200 yards.

With TrackingPoint's exclusive Tag-Track-Xact™ technology, the shooter tags a target with a simple point-and-click, automatically setting up the shot and persistently tracking the target. The system instantly analyzes multiple complex ballistic variables including range, wind, target velocity, shot angle, rifle cant, temperature, pressure and Coriolis Effect to deliver a perfect firing solution. The PGF's networked tracking scope controls the guided trigger to defer firing the rifle until the shot is perfectly aligned.

Built in Wi-Fi and the ShotView™ streaming video smartphone app let shooters share their experience with friends and family in real time with a smartphone or tablet device. The system also records each shot with video and audio that can be downloaded to a networked iPhone or Android smartphone for sharing via social media like Facebook and Twitter or SMS and email.

Participants in the 1,000 Yards is Easy contest must be at least 18 years of age and able to own a rifle under all federal, state and local U.S. laws. The winner will be drawn at random from all eligible entries received and announced at Booth #12451 at 3 p.m. Friday at SHOT Show.
