Anritsu Company and TE Connectivity Demonstrate
High-speed Interconnect Technologies at DesignCon 2013

Anritsu MP1800A BER Tester, and TE Connectivity QSFP+ Active Optical Cable and STRADA Whisper Connector Family Part of Next Generation Network Demonstrations

Santa Clara, CA – January 29, 2012 – (Virtual Press Office)-- Anritsu Company (DesignCon booth #501), a world leader in high-speed test instrumentation, announces that its MP1800A BER Tester will be part of live high-speed next-generation demonstrations conducted by TE Connectivity at DesignCon 2013, January 29-30, Santa Clara. The demonstrations will be running live throughout the show in TE booth #507.

"The MP1800A is recognized as a premier bit error rate tester for the research and development of cables and connectors used in Next Generation Networks (NGN). We are pleased to have our MP1800A be part of the TE demonstrations, which highlight technologies that are addressing the market need for high-speed interconnects," said Hiroshi Goto, Business Development Manager, Anritsu Company.

One demonstration featuring the MP1800A will highlight the performance of TE's QSFP+ active optical cable, a device that operates at 56 Gb/s (4x14 Gb/s) and supports the InfiniBand standard's most recent FDR (fourteen data rate) speed. Additionally, the MP1800A will be included in three other demonstrations that will display the electrical performance and versatility of TE's 25-40 Gb/s STRADA Whisper connector and how it  enables high-speed connectivity for today's and tomorrow's  architectures.

"By furnishing the MP1800A for our various demonstrations at DesignCon, Anritsu provides us with the high-end capability we need to showcase the performance of our next-generation connectors and cables. TE is focused on developing advanced technologies, and Anritsu shares that commitment," said Matt Davis, TE application engineer.

The MP1800A was selected by TE, in part, because it is a modular BERT with a built-in Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) that supports output of high-quality, low intrinsic jitter signals, as well as a built-in Error Detector (ED) with high input sensitivity of 10 mV. It also supports signal analyses, including bathtub and Q measurements.
