Upverter Wins DesignVision Award for Most Innovative PCB Design Tool

Award recognizes cloud engineering, and Upverter’s innovations in electronics design

SANTA CLARA, CA, January 30th, 2013 - (Virtual Press Office) -- Toronto based electrical design tool company Upverter was awarded the DesignVision award for most innovative PCB design tool at DesignCon 2013. The DesignVision awards honor the most innovative design tools in the electronics industry.

In November 2012 Upverter publicly released the first ever cloud engineering electronics design platform. This release included collaborative schematic capture, pcb layout, community part maintenance, cloud simulation, bill-of-material management and prototype manufacturing tools all running natively in the web-browser and served from the cloud. This release allowed engineers to take their design from concept to final production hardware all in one tool.

These features put the Upverter platform amongst the top professional ECAD packages available on the market today. Developers can start using Upverter, for free, at http://www.upverter.com.

“It’s a huge honor to win this award! We have spent the last 3 years working to build the best electronics design tools – this is a sign that were finally getting close!” said Zak Homuth, co-founder and CEO of Upverter. “But, we’re not done yet! We plan to keep going, keep innovating, keep pushing the envelope, and keep making design better, faster and easier. I want to make the big 3 sweat.”
