Calling all Gas Monkey Junkies!!!

Richard Rawlings, star of Discovery Channel's Fast N' Loud, appears at The Washington Auto Show®

WASHINGTON, D.C. - February 2, 2013 – (Virtual Press Office) -- Gearheads, gear up to meet a legend: Richard Rawlings, star of Discovery Channel's Fast N' Loud, will be signing autographs on Tuesday night, February 5, at The Washington Auto Show, courtesy of local Ford dealers. Plus, Rawlings will be selecting a lucky winner of an all-expense paid trip for two to hang out with him and his crew at the Gas Monkey Garage. The prize package is being sponsored by local Ford dealers, and you can enter to win at The Washington Auto Show.

Rawlings and his business partner search for, buy, and restore classic cars for auction in Texas and other nearby states. For Rawlings, his current claim to fame reflects his lifelong interest in cars. From an early age, he began building cars and attending car shows. At 14, he bought a green '74 Mercury Comet, his first car. Rawlings' first company focused on printing and advertising, which he sold to begin his widely acclaimed hot-rod shop, Gas Monkey Garage.

"Rawlings is the ultimate 'car guy,' and we're thrilled that our local Ford dealers are showcasing his talent for his multitude of fans here in Washington," says Robert Fogarty, chair of the 2013 Washington Auto Show.

The largest public show in Washington, The Washington Auto Show features more than 750,000 square feet of automotives, advanced technology, and experiential events and spans all levels, exhibition halls and meeting rooms of the Washington Convention Center. More than 700 vehicles representing 43 domestic and import manufacturers are on display in this 71st edition of the show, which also presents the inaugural Luxury Showcase and enhanced floor plan.
