Newcap Radio Leaves Legacy System for WideOrbit's Seamlessly Integrated WO Traffic, WO Media Sales and WO Automation for Radio
San Francisco, April 2, 2013—(Virtual Press Office) --WideOrbit Inc., the leading provider of advertising management software for media companies, today announced that Canadian broadcaster, Newcap Radio has selected WO Traffic, WO Media Sales and WO Automation for Radio for its markets in the Atlantic division. WideOrbit's integrated suite of advertising traffic, sales management and automation solutions has been selected to help Newcap Radio streamline operations, reduce costs, make better decisions at the station level and across markets, and equip the company for future growth.
"We are very excited to be working with WideOrbit," said Ronald M. Ryan, Vice President Operations Atlantic Canada at Newcap Radio. "WideOrbit has an outstanding team dedicated to superior customer service to ensure that everybody at the station level will be well supported and trained on their products."
Newcap Radio is Canada's second largest radio licensee with 86 licenses across Canada. WO Traffic and WO Media Sales will be installed in all 27 stations that span 16 markets across Atlantic Canada and will standardize their automation system on WO Automation for Radio throughout the company, starting with the Atlantic region and following with the broadcaster's Central and Western regions.
"After an exhaustive review of competitive automation systems, our Programming, Engineering and IT Committee unanimously selected WideOrbit," added Ryan. "WideOrbit was chosen for its functionality and price competitiveness, but more importantly because it is bulletproof and has an amazing group of dedicated, knowledgeable professionals backing it. We are confident we have made the right choice and look forward to our long term partnership with WideOrbit."
WideOrbit's integrated suite of solutions was selected after a rigorous thee-year vetting process that included speaking with other major radio station heads across the country using WideOrbit. High customer satisfaction was one of the deciding factors, in addition to a superior product offering that included a seamlessly integrated traffic and sales solution, and the ability to manage all of Newcap's properties, including interactive and digital, on a single platform.
"We are confident that WO Traffic will allow Newcap Radio to better serve our clients through more effective inventory management and better business decisions," said Ryan. "The addition of WO Media Sales will make Newcap Radio even more responsive and competitive in a changing media landscape."
Nearly 900 radio stations are currently using WO Traffic, WideOrbit's leading advertising sales, traffic and revenue management solution. WO Media Sales and WO Media CRM, WideOrbit's sales and account management suite, seamlessly integrates with WO Traffic to greatly reduce redundancies and improve efficiencies across functions and organizations. WO Automation for Radio, WideOrbit's powerful radio automation system, offers an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, centralized content creation, centralized playlist creation and editing, multimarket voice tracking and advanced interfaces to customary systems and equipment including music schedulers, EAS equipment, audio consoles and routers. Tight integration between WO Automation for Radio and WO Traffic delivers numerous efficiencies to broadcasters including live log editing, streamlined dubbing of commercials and real-time spot reconciliation.
"We now have earned more than 50% of the radio traffic market share of all commercial radio stations in Canada," said Eric R. Mathewson, Founder and CEO of WideOrbit. "The Canadian radio broadcasters are a tight knit fraternity so word of mouth has been the primary reason for our growth. We're excited now to have Newcap Radio join as a client and we'll continue to work hard to ensure that our products work well and we maintain a high level of support for all of our Canadian clients."
WideOrbit will be providing demonstrations of WO Traffic, WO Media Sales, WO Automation for Radio and all of its solutions at the 2013 NAB Show in booths N5129 and N5829 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 8-11.
