Good Tastes Inc Takes On Gluten Free Mac & Cheese

Artisanal frozen food company extends product line to include two new gluten free gourmet mac & cheese flavors

Newburyport Ma. April 2, 2013 – (Virtual Press Office) -- Understanding the growing demand for gluten free products, Good Tastes Inc today announced the launch of two gluten free flavors of its all-natural, gourmet (frozen) mac & cheese. The flavors, Gluten Free Four Cheese Mac and Gluten Free Caramelized Onion & Herb Mac will join the lineup of conventional flavors – Four Cheese Mac, Wild Mushroom Mac, and Bacon & Shallot Mac & Brie & Fig Mac.

"I became keenly aware of the challenges faced by those on a wheat-free diet, when I went on a gluten free diet for over six months. I learned firsthand how hard it is to find easy, delicious, yet gluten-free, solutions for dinner," said Sarah Pike, Good Tastes founder and former farm girl. "Coupled with frequent requests from people who couldn't enjoy our regular macs, it was clear that there was an unmet need that Good Tastes could act on, and we are thrilled to offer this new option."

The gluten free marketplace is on an upward trajectory, with no signs of slowing down. Researchers expect gluten free sales to show 14% compounded growth between 2012-2015 to a staggering $5.6B.

Good Tastes has partnered with Pineland Farms of New Gloucester, Maine to source their award-winning Cheddar and Monterey Jack for all of their macs. In addition to fresh herbs and vegetables, nitrate/nitrite free bacon – the products are 100% natural and preservative free.  Growing up on one of the first certified organic farms in the state of Maine, Pike has viewed the freezer as a tool to preserve good food.

"The freezer is the most natural preservative - and as a busy working mom, I use it every day to making feeding my growing family and entertaining friends a bit easier," said Pike.

Good Tastes has grown substantially over the past four years – with plans for coast to coast distribution in 2013 and additional product lines in early 2014. While not strictly a "gluten free" company, Pike has plans to offer both types of products in the future that will serve to please a variety of dietary needs and taste buds. Critical to the company's mission is that the products must first be delicious with exhaustively sourced ingredients and good enough to share with friends. After that, the rest will unfold.
