Abekas introduces Tria™
Three-Channel Video Server

The perfect and most advanced companion to any production switcher

MENLO PARK, California (NAB Show booth #SL6313) — April 8, 2013 — (Virtual Press Office) -- Abekas announced today the introduction of a new three-channel video server designed to be the perfect companion to any production switcher. Tria will also be on display at the Sony Booth C11001 in the Central Hall.

Tria hits the market sweet spot with its unique "three-channel" playback architecture, which features a dedicated "VKA" (video+key+audio) output channel, with two additional video+audio output channels. And beyond other clip servers on the market, Tria offers a digital video input for recording clips, as well as a built-in Media File Import tool which supports a wide array of file codecs and wrappers.

"Live broadcasts are becoming more and more complex," says Douglas Johnson, Chief Product Manager of Abekas. "Multiple complex animated graphics and video clips feeding on-set displays are common. Tria delivers exactly the right features, at the right price point, to be the perfect companion to any switcher."

Tria offers native JPEG-2000 recordings with user-selectable bit rates up to 200 Mb/sec. High-quality recordings are especially needed for graphical animated switcher transitions, which are becoming more intricate and complex every day. Tria utilizes SSDs configured as RAID-1 for clip storage; these SSDs are removable and can be quickly and easily exchanged to transport clip content from one Tria server to another.

Tria is a broadcast-class product built with quality, reliability and redundancy—which our customers have come to expect from Abekas.
