GENE SIMMONS ON "BUSTED"
Simmons and eOne to Shop Series at MIPTV
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 4, 2013) – (Virtual Press Office) -- Leading independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) is proud to announce it is teaming up with rock legend Gene Simmons on a new reality series, BUSTED. Simmons will be in attendance at MIPTV with eOne to pitch the project to potential buyers and also interview eOne's President and CEO Darren Throop for the Media Mastermind Keynote Series taking place on Monday April 8th.
BUSTED, created by Simmons, goes on tour with some of the biggest rock bands in the world in an outrageous hidden camera comedy series where every rock star, band mate, family member and roady is a moving target. Hosted by Gene Simmons, BUSTED takes audiences backstage with an all-access pass to the never before seen hysterical practical jokes pulled on tour.
Executive producers include John Morayniss, Tara Long and Jeff Hevert on behalf of eOne and Gene Simmons. eOne will handle worldwide rights to the series in all media except merchandise which will be handled by Simmons.
KISS co-founder and lead singer, Gene Simmons, is a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur and one of the world's most recognized personalities. KISS has sold over 100 million CDs and DVDs worldwide, and continues to sell out stadiums and arenas around the world, breaking box-office records set by Elvis and the Beatles, and boasting over 3,000 licensed / merchandise items. In October 2012, the band released the 20th studio album to date, MONSTER, which debuted in the top 3 of the Billboard charts within its first week. Outside of his music business endeavors, Simmons expanded his artistic explorations in the areas of TV and film. He starred in his own realty show on A&E, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which after airing for nine seasons made it the longest-running celebrity reality show of all time.
