DreamHammer and Ocean Aero Form Strategic Alliance for First Commercial Cross Domain Air/Maritime Control System
WASHINGTON, D.C. – AUVSI's Unmanned Systems 2013 – Tuesday, August 13, 2013
– (Virtual Press Office
) -- DreamHammer®, provider of Ballista® world class open architecture control software for all unmanned systems, announced today that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Ocean Aero, developer of a new class of commercially available autonomous maritime unmanned vessels.
Under the agreement, DreamHammer will extend the functionality of Ballista to control Ocean Aero's "Submaran," a new class of Unmanned Underwater, Surface Vessel (UUSV). For the first time ever, a maritime unmanned system will be controlled through a software control system so powerful that it can control any unmanned vehicle in any domain.
"DreamHammer is eager to get started on this project," said DreamHammer CSO Larry Osborn. "It has always been on our near term roadmap to bring cross domain vehicle control to the market. In the physical world there is a continuum from space to undersea, so it makes no sense to create artificial boundaries in our operational systems. Partnering with Ocean Aero, an incredibly innovative commercial company, is perfect for us."
"We are very excited to be working with DreamHammer," said Ocean Aero President and CEO Eric Patten. "Ballista will give our Submaran UUSV unmatched 'out-of-the-box' capability and extensibility, ready to plug and play with future systems. Most importantly, Ballista allows us to do this at an extremely affordable price that will bring real value to our customers."
