Urban Airship Introduces Industry’s First Opt-in Reporting for Push Notifications

Companies can tailor mobile messages to optimize delivery and engagement

The new Unique Opt-In Report offers critical insight into the number of distinct users opting-in or out of push notifications over time, enabling companies to hone their messaging strategy based on mobile users’ behavior in near real-time.

When users have opted-in, push notifications appear on the home screen of smartphones, whether the triggering app is open or not, offering an unprecedented ability to engage directly with users any time, anywhere. Urban Airship’s Core Reports, available to all customers, offer aggregate data on when pushes were sent and to how many users, as well as the number of app opens and the time spent in apps.

The new Unique Opt-in Report, available to Premium Plan customers, offers new insights into individual user behavior pre- and post-push. Companies can select the time period or mobile platforms to compare the performance of pushes and opt-in rates, and drill into specific data points for more detail. As this report focuses on unique users versus aggregate totals, it offers insight into which notifications produce the desired results and which don’t so that campaigns can be quickly adjusted.
