Warsaw’s New Icon

(Virtual Press Office) -During the MIPIM 2012 Trade Fair, BBI Development will unveil its vision of a new high-rise project in the very heart of Warsaw.

BBI Development, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Warsaw and St. Barbara’s Parish, intends to execute a new high-rise building project within the plot located at the junction of Emilii Plater and Nowogrodzka streets in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district.

“Our goal is to create a building of premium architectural quality, distinguished by its elegant form, moderation and functionality,” says Michał Skotnicki, President of BBI Development. The structure is to become one of the most prominent elements of Warsaw’s cityscape.

The special purpose vehicle established in order to complete the project will create a building with an overall usable surface area of ca. 55,000 m2, rising to a height of ca. 180 metres. It will also be responsible for its commercialisation and sale. The preliminary urban design has been prepared by Juvenes – Projekt.

BBI Development has vast experience in executing commercial projects of this scale. Currently, together with Liebrecht&Wood, it is involved in the construction of the “Plac Unii” office and retail centre, with a usable surface area of ca. 56,000 m2. Last January, within the framework of that project, the company signed a strategic lease contract with ING Group companies. Its portfolio also features “Nowy Sezam” investment, which is Warsaw’s first project functionally integrated with an underground station (Świętokrzyska) on the capital’s second underground line (under construction), with an area of ca.

13,000 m2, as well as the “Koneser” office, commercial and residential centre, with an area of ca. 70,000 m2, located in Warsaw’s Praga district, near Wileńska station – also on the new second underground line.
