OCC® introduces the Procyon™ Copper Panel
Procyon™ Copper Panel joins the family of products that include data center cabinets, panels with cable management, high-density fiber cassettes and more.
(Virtual Press Office) Optical Cable Corporation (OCC®) is proud to introduce the Procyon™ copper panel at the 2012 BICSI Fall Conference & Exhibition. Part of OCC's complete system approach to data center design and connectivity, the Procyon family of structured cabling products features industry-leading performance, density, accessibility and cable management features designed for use in many applications, including data centers.
The Procyon copper panel is designed for high-density copper connectivity and to be interchangeable with fiber panels for maximum flexibility for the end user. Each copper module provides 48 Cat 6A shielded ports in one rack unit. The copper panel mates with 12 pre-terminated high-density copper cable assemblies, each providing cabling for four RJ45 ports. OCC's rugged and shielded cable assembly allows for fast installation of high speed copper interconnects. An easy to remove metal pulling eye is incorporated to aid in cable installation.
The Procyon copper panel slides forward for easy access to patch field and features integrated equipment/patch cord and rear cable management features. Designed with both shielded and unshielded cables in mind, the high-density copper cable patch panel is compatible with UTP, F/UTP and S/FTP cables in Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A and Cat 7A configurations, according to Dr. Ian Timmins, Director of Engineering. Timmins adds, "These OCC Procyon products have it all – high density, cable management and superior performance. We couldn't be more excited about the addition of this copper panel to the Procyon family."
