(Virtual Press Office) -- Booth 746 – Gefen unveils two new GefenPRO 8x8 Matrixes for HDMI with either four or eight built-in ELR (Extra Long Range) extension modules based on HDBaseT. Both matrix switchers offer a one-box solution that can route HDMI long distances while integrating eight hi-def sources and eight HDTV displays or projectors.
The GefenPRO 8x8 Matrix for HDMI w/4 ELR switches eight sources to eight displays. Four displays can be connected locally using HDMI cables and four displays can be extended up to 330 feet (100m) using one CAT-5 cable per display.

For both solutions, small footprint receiver units connect to the display, delivering 1080p full HD with 3DTV pass-through and multi-channel audio. With the use of Gefen's POL technology, all receiver units do not require an external power supply at the display location. Bi-directional IR is also sent over the same CAT5 cable providing a path for IR remote control of the source through the display. Gefen's FST (Fast Switching Technology) provides a timely switch when selecting sources with HDCP compliance.
Users control both GefenPRO Matrix Switchers from the front panel, web IP, IR or RS-232 connections. The LCD on the front panel shows all switching and routing status information and other default settings. Advanced EDID options ensure stability during switching for zero downtime.
