Demand for female oriented porn shows strong growth
As the success of the book "50 Shades Of Grey" has proved that the demand for adult content made for women is showing a significant growth worldwide. Dutch TV channel Dusk!, which is solely devoted to providing erotic material to women, is the only answer available on television for this demand and is now on the verge of an international roll-out.
Dusk! is available on the platforms of Dutch cable companies Ziggo, UPC, KPN and Caiw, reaching over 1.5 million cable households. The channel does its own research into what sort of porn they should be showing via a panel made up of over 1.500 women. They are shown snippets of films and asked to rate them according to "spiciness". If a film gets over 100 points, it makes the grade and it is shown on the channel.
Before the end of 2012, Dusk! will be launched in several European countries.
"The panel provides us with a lot of knowledge about women and their sexual desires and fantasies, and enables us to be and stay spot-on with our the content that is being aired. We are proud to be the first and only one in the world to have this knowledge and to be able to provide the female population with exactly what they want to see. We are here at the MIPCOM to show cable and satellite companies from all countries that Dusk! is a true added value to their portfolio, and will lift their ARPU", says Martijn Broersma, director at 2GrapesMedia.
