Timely Film on Islam Religion Debuts
For BoPaul Media at MIPCOM
Los Angeles (
Virtual Press Office) – At a time when Middle East tensions are escalating over the recent release of a film insulting to Islamists, BoPaul Media Worldwide (BMW) announces the debut at MIPCOM of a positive documentary entitled “Heaven” that explores Islamism as well as four other leading religions.
The 90-minute film was produced by John Scheinfeld, award-winning director/producer/writer of Lionsgate’s celebrated theatrical release “The U.S. vs. John Lennon”.
Scheinfeld’s latest creation takes viewers on a bold global exploration into diverse viewpoints -- and shared goal -- of reaching Heaven according to believers of Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Hinduism.
“I’m so pleased to have had the chance to make this film,” said Scheinfeld. “At a time when there is so much religious turmoil and violence, the world needs this positive message of brotherhood and tolerance.”
Exquisitely shot in exotic locations around the world, “Heaven” takes an entirely unique approach to the subject by presenting intimate portraits of remarkable individuals and groups who lead extraordinary lives in the name of Heaven.
In one segment, for example, Scheinfeld and his American crew immersed themselves with the “Whirling Dervishes,” Sufi Muslims and self-described “lovers of God,” who preach tolerance for all faiths. Their unique and captivating ritual dance, the Sema, represents a mystical journey that establishes a connection between God and man.
“Heaven” is made without agenda, judgment or from any religious point of view. Rather, audience members are challenged to witness existing concepts and lifestyles and arrive at their own conclusions as to the true nature of Heaven and how it can be incorporated into their daily lives.
From Turkey to Thailand, from Azerbaijan to India to America, this film offers a powerful and emotional look at the lives of people who, in their wisdom, courage and accomplishment, have discovered their own Heavenly truth.
“Heaven” is positive, uplifting, thought-provoking and, above all else, inspiring – the perfect antidote to the tumultuous world in which we live today. The film is also available in a 45-minute version, which was telecast on the National Geographic Channel in U.S. Both versions are produced for local customization with voice over, meaning a native language host can be seamlessly integrated.
BoPaul Media Worldwide will be located at stand 07.39 during MIPCOM 2012 in Cannes, France.
