MEDIA ALERT:  SAMPLIFY APAX IP ACCELERATES COMPUTING APPLICATIONS MORE THAN 200 PERCENT; DEMONSTRATION AT ARM TECHCON 2012

CAMPBELL, Calif.,—29 October 2012

(Virtual Press Office) -- Samplify, the leading intellectual property company for accelerating memory, I/O, and storage in computing, consumer electronics and mobile devices, will demonstrate its new APAX intellectual property (IP) running on two ARM® Cortex™-A9 processors in the Xilinx Zynq™ Extensible Processor Platform at ARM TechCon 2012. The APAX IP accelerates throughput of memory, I/O, and storage by 2X to 8X for high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud computing, as well as consumer electronics and mobile devices performing applications such as image acquisition, video processing, and 3D graphics.

WHAT:
The Samplify APAX demonstration at ARM TechCon 2012 delivers a 200 percent boost in performance for a gesture recognition algorithm running on the ARM Cortex-A9 processor.  When the Samplify APAX technology is enabled in hardware, the frame rate increases by more than 200 percent, allowing recognition of fast moving gestures for gaming, consumer electronics, and a variety of industrial and defense applications.
