<![CDATA[ New York, NY – February 16, 2010: In its first ever co-location with the 107th annual American International Toy Fair, the 2010 Engage! Expo (previously "Virtual World Expo") opened today at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City.
The partnership between the two shows provides all Toy Fair attendees with full access to the Engage! Expo exhibit floor where the latest tools, technologies, products, and services being used in building web-enabled toys, social games, virtual worlds, mobile apps and more are on display.
"Toys are continuing to evolve with digital and online engagement," said Marian Bossard, vice president, Meetings and Events, Toy Industry Association. "Our audiences are learning and sharing with each other – making both shows even more valuable to attendees."
Engagement has been an important trend to toymakers as digitally-native kids, video game-savvy dads and connected moms continue to embrace the relationship between technology, digital media and toys. Youth entertainment companies are already capitalizing on digital tools such as cameras, communication and music devices, online sharing software, social media, virtual worlds and web-connected toys and games to further enhance consumer interaction with their brands.

<![CDATA[ EW YORK, February 15, 2010 – Valentine's Day may have passed, but hearts are still aflutter in New York City as thousands of toys destined for store shelves later this year and through the 2010 holiday season continue to be unveiled at the American International Toy Fair underway this week at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. With over 100,000 products on display – more than 7,900 being debuted at this year's 107th iteration of the annual event – experts from show organizer the Toy Industry Association (TIA) have surveyed the show floor and are giving this year's top trends all "A's": Active, Accessible, Affordable and Aspirational.

"There's more than alliteration behind our selection of these four overarching themes," explained Reyne Rice, TIA toy trend specialist, in a presentation to media earlier this afternoon. "Each of these topline 'A' trends is supported by toys intended for multiple age groups and play patterns, from multiple manufacturers and entertainment studios, and across all categories of products."

Rice's comments were made during a "Toy Trends Tea" hosted by TIA in the Toy Fair 2010 Press Center this afternoon. A video of the presentation will be posted to the Toy Fair 2010 (www.toyfairny.com) and TIA (thetoybiz.toyassociation.org) websites; a related Q/A with Rice is also posted to the "Reyne Talks Toys" section of the www.ToyInfo.org website.

A summary of the four top trends, as well as updates on strong secondary trends, follows:

Active Play serves as a catalyst for the body while Active Intelligence and Imagination serve as catalysts for the brain.

Active Play gets kids up and moving, keeping the body active, limber and flexible, and promoting healthy lifestyles choices. Even products ]]>

<![CDATA[ Los Angeles, February 15, 2010 – (Virtual Press Office) – Inspired by real girls from around the world, the multiple award-winning Karito Kids® characters start the new decade with a completely new look. KidsGive®, the company behind the philanthropy-focused, multicultural Karito Kids line of dolls and books, today unveiled the updated Karito Kids World Collection.

Created by two entrepreneurs who want to encourage kids' innate desire to care and give back, each Karito Kids character looks like a real 11-year-old girl from a different part of the globe. Because these modern-day characters reflect the tastes and interests of actual girls in their home countries, the dolls' new looks are inspired by fashions girls are wearing now.

The dolls will arrive in completely updated packaging that sets the brand apart at shelf. It's designed to better showcase how kids give to other kids with every purchase – a point of differentiation that makes Karito Kids truly unique and special. <![CDATA[ Street Surfing, LLC is transporting Spider-Man from comic books to skate parks and streets this spring with the introduction of the Spider-Man 3-D Wave Board, the first licensed casterboard in the market.

Using colorful graphics and the identical likeness of Marvel Entertainment's Spider-Man, the maker's of the award-winning Wave casterboard have also incorporated a new technology – a raised rubberized deck plate – to provide a three dimensional Spider-Man and a highly stylized look for riders. The Spider-Man 3-D Wave Board, which retails for $69, will be available this spring.

<![CDATA[ PLAYMOBIL Awards Teachers for Creativity in the Classroom
New Grant Program Encourages Imaginative Learning and will Award Teachers Cash Grants
and PLAYMOBIL Toys for the Classroom
Cranbury, N.J., February 14, 2009 – This school year, PLAYMOBIL rewarded teachers for their imaginative
daily lessons in classrooms nationwide. From Aug. 17 to Nov. 15, kindergarten through third grade teachers
were encouraged to submit creative lesson plans using PLAYMOBIL toys to help teach a lesson in any
subject. Four cash grants, to be used for supplies to further creativity in the classroom, as well as more than
20 prizes in the form of PLAYMOBIL toys have now been awarded to applicants presenting outstanding
grant proposals and lesson plans. The four grant winners are listed below:
• First prize: Mrs. Van der Sommen and Mrs. LaFever, Norwich, NY
• Second prize: Rosemary Lannen, Kalamazoo, MI
• Third prize: Elizabeth Millette and Anne Sutemeier, Stockbridge, GA
• Fourth prize: Deeba Khan, Chicago, IL
"Teachers are one of the keys to creating exciting and engaging lessons," said Michelle Winfrey, marketing
and compliance manager for PLAYMOBIL USA. "We hope these grants will assist teachers in developing
creative lessons to help keep children interested and using their imaginations while they're learning."
The first annual grant program further establishes PLAYMOBIL's commitment to children's creativity –
both in the classroom and at home – by showing and demonstrating appreciation for teachers. The program
built on past successful lesson plan programs in conjunction with Scholastic and met a need for curriculumenhancing
materials, such as creative toys for the classroom.
The program asked teachers to develop a lesson plan using a PLAYMOBIL set as the primary demonstration
tool. The lesson plans displayed how the toys would be incorporated into a lesson plan to nurture a child's
imagination.
Lesson plan thought-starters ranged from using PLAYMOBIL's Egyptian line to teach classes about

<![CDATA[ Lake Barrington, IL (February 14, 2010) – Who wouldn't invest $10.95 for preschoolers to be able to dress the part of a chef or a doctor as they ponder the inevitable question, what do you want to be when you grow up? That's the allure behind Aeromax's newest dress-up line called My 1st Career Gear where absolutely adorable and incredibly affordable meet unlimited imagination. See the entire new line at this year's American International Toy Fair Booth 2274.
As the always-award-winning costume clothiers for babies, children and even adults, Aeromax understands that the look is as important as the feel and the fit. This new line of Career Gear is designed to slip over everyday clothes with an easy-on, easy-off appeal for parents and teachers. Incredibly, there are no plastic pieces, buttons or zippers—just slip it on like a vest and fasten the simple hook-and-loop closures! And, everything is ultra washable, thanks to the fact that Aeromax had all the little details for each vest imprinted with special process called roto gravure or sublimation printing, rather than silk screening which can peel off after a few uses and washes. Ingenious! Make believe has never been so effortless or accessible. ]]>
